European Championships 5th, 6th and 7th September 2008
'Pool of Life' travelled with family and friends to compete in the European Championships. Some of our friends and family also competed, representing Great Britain in the Under 18's and the Premier Crews.
Our hotel was near the beach and some of us had a few relaxing days on the beach before the races.
At the other side of the hotel was the lake on which we raced. From the beach could be seen a most beautiful sunset and there was a view of the Torre Paola which was built in the middle ages as a defence against the Saracens.
We met the Italian breast cancer survivor teams - Pink Butterflies and the ladies from Florence and Cagliari.
