Pool of Life on tour

Members of Pool of Life are heading to Windermere on October 15 to paddle with another long-standing dragon boat team. Paddlers for Life have been based on the beautiful Cumbria lake for 10 years, and follow the same ethos as Pool of Life.

The weekend will be a break out of the city of Liverpool for our members, and will include a walk up Helvellyn (weather permitted), a meal and a paddle with our northern friends. This will be a welcome respite from all the organising everyone is doing to make our abseil down Sensor City a success.

Charity Abseil event

Pool of Life is making this Halloween super scary by organising their very first abseil. That is unless you have a good head for heights. This it’s just a whole lot of fun. Joining forces with Sensor City, one of Liverpool’s newest buildings, Pool of Life is going up in the world – literally! And you are invited to be a part of it.

On October 29 2017, from 9-4.30, Sensor City will be open for anyone to come along and abseil, cheer on their family and friends or just sit and have a cuppa and a cake. Situated near to the top of Copperas Hill, Sensor City has the magnificent cathedrals on one side and a panoramic view of Liverpool’s iconic skyline. As you get ready to do your abseil, don’t forget to take and post your #SensorCitySelfie. The Pool of Life members will be on hand all day to help settle the nerves and make your visit fun, offering something for all the family. In addition to refreshments, there will be face painting, crafts, popcorn, a tombola and much more for all the family to enjoy.

A minimum donation for taking part in this fantastic event is £60, payable before taking the plunge. By all means encourage your family and friends to top that amount up by sponsoring you. Since it’s so close to Halloween, feel free to come along in fancy dress. Channel your inner superhero!!!  Please use our online donation site here: MyDonate or use our sponsor form here: POL SPONSERSHIP FORM – 1

All the money raised on this event is going towards the Pool of Life charity, which helps support those diagnosed and treated with breast cancer. As a charity dragon boat support group we provide breast cancer survivors with a place to exercise and learn a new skill. Everyone knows the health benefits of paddling in a dragon boat, but the support group offers so much more. We are all in the same boat, but through paddling together we excel, both in life and in sport.
